National presentation of “Design Memory Region of Murcia. Stage Two”,
from Cuenca, in face-to-face and streaming format

The Association of Design and Advertising Communication Professionals of the Region of Murcia (DIP), Cuenca Diseño and DIVERS+S are the organizers of this event open to the interested public, which will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 12 to 13 hours.
The Association of Design and Advertising Communication Professionals of the Region of Murcia (DIP), together with Cuenca Diseño and DIVERS+S, are pleased to announce the national presentation of the project “Design Memory Region of Murcia. Stage Two”, next Tuesday, June 24, from 12 to 13 hours, in an event open to all interested audiences and in a hybrid format, face-to-face in Cuenca and streaming through the DIP YouTube channel.
To do the honors as host and open the program, the designer Juan Lázaro, former president of READ and today representative of Cuenca Diseño on its board of directors. Next , Teresa Jular, DIP partner designer and coordinator of the MDRM project, will take the floor, presenting this pioneering initiative, a collective elaboration of design memory in all its aspects, with the focus on its protagonists.
With special attention to the latest advances of the project, there will also be time to answer questions and listen to impressions from the attendees.
“Memory of Design Region of Murcia” is a collective and intergenerational project that was born at the end of 2023 promoted by a working group of members of the DIP association for the recognition of senior design professionals – people born before 1960 – and also of those who died young. An exploration of those who have practiced the trade in, for and from the Region of Murcia in all its aspects: graphics, fashion, product, interior, communication, services and also other lesser-known or hybrid applications. An exciting excavation in the collective memory of Murcian society, full of emotions and lessons for the present and what is to come.
After an initial stage of creation of the graphic identity and the website, progress has been made in the management of the contents of a non-normative digital archive, with interviews with protagonists, family and friends, compilation and digitization of works, and publication of bibliographic and webgraphic references, which are available in open access on the website: regiondemurcia.design
In parallel, the programming of training activities with the Higher School of Design (Edi) and other moments organized by DIP for personal encounters and intergenerational coexistence, which are what give true meaning to this project born to protect and value the legacy of design, but also to contribute to minimizing age discrimination.
Stage Two of MDRM is serving to enrich the digital web archive with more protagonist profiles (printers, journalists and other professionals concerned), to address a second intergenerational workshop, more complete in terms of didactic experience than last year’s, and to produce two new tangibles: the fanzine “Ganas y Canas Dos” and the book-object “An indelible footprint”. bilingual ES/EN, to communicate to new audiences.
At the present time, there are more than sixty identified protagonists, there are hundreds of photographs and works collected to tell them adequately, and several dozen people involved in “Memory of Design Region of Murcia”, in some of its activities.

The initiative, in this second stage developed in 2025, is being made possible thanks to the financial support received through the Aid for Cultural Creation and Promotion of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Spain, Novograf Graphic Arts, Cajamurcia Foundation, Estrella de Levante and the partners of DIP.
We are organisers of this national presentation by the MDRM working group of DIP, the associations Cuenca Diseño and DIVERS+S and we are counting on the collaboration of the Spanish Network of Design Associations (READ), the Higher School of Design Region of Murcia (Edi) and its association of graduates and students, Designers and Associated Students (DEA).
