To talk about Pedro López Morales is to immerse oneself in the living memory of design in Murcia, a journey that unfolds over forty years of creativity and passion.

He is a multifaceted image and communication director, art critic, exhibition curator, columnist and graphic designer. Born and raised in the Barrio del Carmen in the city of Murcia, he is a “full-blooded Carmelitean” who has dedicated his life to transforming ideas into art, fashion and culture.

From a young age, he showed a natural inclination towards aesthetics and organization. At the age of 19, he began his career at Cerdán Hermanos as Artistic Director directing window dressers and organizing fashion shows and events. A highlight was his collaboration with Nieves Fernández of the Yerba gallery, organizing a happening that fused Picasso’s works with fashion. His talent and leadership skills led him to take charge of the entire image of the company in just five years.

He subsequently moved to Artemur, where he took on the role of Image Director developing a wide range of creative work that cemented his reputation in the industry.

After eighteen years between these two companies, she decided to work as a freelancer, maintaining the creative freedom that she has always claimed and prioritized.

One of the most important milestones in his career was the creation and direction of Murcia Joven de Diseño de Moda, which was later renamed the National Catwalk of Young Fashion Designers, becoming, for 21 uninterrupted years, a national contest that catapulted Murcia to the map of Spanish design. Pedro’s dedication and faith in this project were unwavering, culminating in a commemorative book, “20 Years of Emotions,” which documents two decades of creativity, enthusiasm, and effort.

His collaboration with De La Cierva & Nicolás deserves a special mention. Together with this firm he organized fashion shows on the prestigious catwalks of Gaudí and Cibeles, also taking the collections to international exhibitions such as Dusseldorf, Milan or Paris, demonstrating his ability to disobey the rules, surprise and merge elegance and modernity.

Art is a constant source of inspiration in his work. As a curator and collector, he has assembled a personal collection with works by artists such as Ramón Gaya, Pedro Cano and Rafael Alberti. This collection, a reflection of his good taste, feeds and inspires his daily work.

“Throughout his career he has worked with more than 35 publishers, highlighting in his journalistic work the exclusive interview with Giorgio Armani for a Spanish fashion magazine. He also directed and presented the cultural magazine “Página Doble” on television.

Pedro has shown unmatched perseverance and passion. Their greatest strength lies in their ability to discover the essence of things, valuing reflection and a job well done. He does not take no for an answer. He listens to his intuition and never doubts. His advice to young designers reflects his philosophy: “Do everything you want to do, don’t be afraid.” These words define his bold and purposeful approach to creativity and life.

He attributes his success and happiness to the love and support he received as a child, especially to the influence of his parents, who taught him to be free and instilled in him values of wisdom and loyalty. The rich history and traditions of his ancestors, his great-grandmother being a great reference, guide him in every personal and professional challenge.

The story of Pedro López Morales celebrates life, creativity, passion and perseverance. A tireless generator of ideas, he has sown innovation and beauty in each project, fashion show and publication, building a bridge between tradition and modernity with a transgressive and original touch that defines his essence.
