“MDRM. Stage Two”, in short
As the year draws to a close, let’s take a look at the main activities carried out in 2025 by the “Region of Murcia Design Memory” working group.
A great start in January, with an “EMCUENTRO” at Finca San Antonio, where more than sixty professionals from different generations and some members of ASSIDO, a friendly association of DIP, met.
It didn’t take long for us to tackle a second edition of the Intergenerational Workshop at the Higher School of Design (Edi), a didactic experience in collaboration with ADI, which has given rise to the fanzine “Ganas y Canas. Two”, on the back cover of which those who participated expressed the intention or at least the desire for a third issue. Let it be and let’s see it.
In June, the national presentation, face-to-face and via streaming, “From Cuenca with Love”, took place, carried out by DIP in collaboration with READ, Cuenca Diseño, DIVERS+S and with Celeo as the host venue. Thanks to our colleagues from Cuenca, the recording has been made available free-to-air.
A little before that milestone, the digital archive had already been expanded regiondemurcia.design with more content, with the possibility of leaving comments that complement the profiles of its protagonists and the development of an English version. Improvements that we must thank our colleagues at the Artsolut studio.
And, after the summer, two interesting invitations attended, one from the University of La Laguna, to talk about the thirteen designers honored in the project, and another from the Impacta Festival, an event conceived with great visual spectacularity and for a large attendance at the Audiovisual Hub of the Artillery Barracks of Murcia. We have collected entries about both events in this same section.
The MDRM group has ended the year focused on completing the production of the book-object “An indelible footprint”, whose distribution will begin in January 2026, with a gift copy for each of the members of DIP, for the people involved in the project and for the many who have collaborated by interviewing, writing, providing documentation and facilitating contacts. Before long, distribution will begin to prescribers, archives and centers concerned with design in our country. Plus an online sales solution that allows this collective production to be available.
An intense activity that of DIP in the project “MRDM. Stage Two” that has been possible thanks to the funding provided by the Aid to Cultural Creation and Promotion program of the Ministry of Culture, the Institute for Creative Industries and Art (ICA), Novograf graphic arts, Cajamurcia Foundation and CETEM.
